The 297K Red Star was most likely awarded by the Southern Front during the post-Stalingrad counteroffensive.

Sorry I am late to the party, as usual, and I am in agreement with my esteemed colleagues' assessment of authenticity and valuation.

Thanks for all the help and interesting info. Just trying to get an idea of what I have here. Probably be a while before I try to sell any of them. (actually, it's very likely I don't sell any of them but we'll see)
I'll try to upload more later today after doing some work here at the house.

The forum marketplace is the best place to sell if you want the items to go to a good home.
Most of the folks here really enjoy all things Soviet and many of the items end up framed and displayed. Lots of researching being done too.

I have this one, and on other to post today. Then I probably won't get more pictures taken for a couple days. I will look into the marketplace and appreciate what you're saying about a good home etc.

Here is the last one for today. I would assume it's uncommon to fake these?
One of the medals in the collection is one of those Suvorov orders, which I am sure is a fake. Which surprised me, since for some reason I had assumed that people weren't faking these things in the mid-80's. But, apparently the excessively rare ones were already being faked at that point?

Nice stars and all original! :thumbsup Can you post pictures of your fake Suvorov? I'm very interested to see how these old fakes look.

"Fakes", "Copies", "Museum Pieces", "Theatrical Pieces" and altered real pieces have been going on for almost as long as the awards themselves.
From The Order "Victory" to the Medal "Veteran Of Labour" there are not real ones out there. It's the same for anything that can be copied - it will be. Just keep a good common sense to paranoia ratio!
