Fake Restoration, Construction and Development Medals
Taz,

I thought it was yours.

In this case I'd suggest that you look for another one, in better shape. Somehow, I don't like this one very much.

What do you think about this one? Sorry for the bad pic, I can't get better ones.

Jens,

If you can't get better pictures (whatever the fairy-tale might be), a BIG RED FLAG should immediately go up.

Anyway, even with this substandard quality picture, this is clearly a crude fake.

That's absolutely correct. If what you are attempting to buy is known to be usually more fake than real and you are not allowed to see close up just use the rule of thumb that it is fake.

The big red flag will be flying and it won't even have a hammer and sickle on it.

I think this one is good. It has got a "LMD" stamp in the ring too.

Jens,

It does not look bad, but better (larger) pictures are needed to tell for sure.

By the way, fakers have been producing LMD-stamped rings for quite some time already.

Thanks Marc. I only got this photo in addition:

Jens,

That does not help. Ask the seller for a large pic of the front of the medal, and an enlargement of the train.

Thanks Marc, I will try.
