960,000? Wow. I guess I didn't realize that. I have a low 800k from the early 80's (if my collection memory serves me), and was pretty thrilled with that high number. I know the OPW2 make it up into the 960k's (I've got a couple in the high 950's), but I thought the Glory III stopped in the early/mid 800's. I learn something new every day.

960K sounds high to me too.

Paul,

According to Mondvor, 997815 people were awarded an OG3, event though the currently highest known SN is 813370. It is possible that when a posthumous award was granted, it was all paperwork and no bling-bling.

I know of at least 1 that was awarded in 2004 for 1945 actions.

Now I can subscribe to that, but not a s/n'd piece in the 900K's.

I agree, no serial number awards known in the 900ks as yet. As I said around 960-980,000 have been awarded all up. I hope to have proof of that iformation within 12 months.

Brendan,

Ask nicely Andrey Kuznetsov about the source of his information (which, knowing him, should be highly reliable) and you can go all the way to 997815 without having to wait 12 months :D

They only publish information they can confirm.

BTW, I have heard several times about OG3rds with s/ns in the 9XXXXX range observed by collectors, but I have yet to see one. Considering the number of Glories awarded after 1991 it seems highly unlikely.

The highest number in my collection is 806245.
