Got a new one: Soviet Postal Service patch
#1
Just arrived in the mail from Moscow. It has some slight moth damage, but I've been trying to get one for some time. Thought yall might be interested.

Interesting patch! I think there was a complete 1980's Soviet Postal uniform on E awhile back.

Pretty cool. I'm sure the lightning bolt is for inspiration rather than documented efficiency of the mail.

The seller I bought this from offered another one, also with moth damage (worse) and with bits of the stitching still attached (I removed mine when I clean them for display). I must have hunted this darn patch for five years or so before finding on one ebay. The mail system must have improved though, the letter from Moscow with it arrived in five days.

That is very interesting, I always over look the public sector of Soviet life and forget that many of the workers had designated uniforms of an almost militaristic style as well.

Dummy here never knew what this patch was for (I thought communications) until I pulled out my Russian dictionary. I too enjoy the non-military patches, which are even more difficult to find on ebay than the military ones.

I love it ,

i must say i love most of the civilian uniforms.

i started collecting M69 military visor caps a few years ago.
i wont regret widening my subject to military and civilian.

chapeau for this rare patch.:thumbsup
