As desantnik notes, while exceedingly uncommon I, too, have seen period images of enlisted personnel who were awarded the Bogdan Khmelnitskiy III. I have one such hard copy photo in my collection - a Bogdan III to Guards Sergeant V. I. Shubin who was also an ORS, Glory III and double For Valor awardee.

Gents,
For the first time, I pulled up my man on the Russian site. Quite a story here, quite a story.
He was 76mm anti-tank gun commander in the 17th Guards Rifle Order of Suvorov Regiment, 5th Guards Rifle Division.
As it turns out, his Order of Bogdan Khmelnitskiy III award was in fact a downgrade from a Hero of the Soviet Union award recommendation. His HSU recommendation was approved all the way through the 11th Guards Army level.
His original citation reads: "Comrade Shubin on the night of 26 April 1945 was the first to cross the Koenigsberg canal onto the Frisch-Nerung spit where he participated in repelling six enemy counterattacks. He destroyed three enemy firing positions and up to a platoon of enemy infantrymen. Comrade Shubin's heroism in battle assisted in holding the seized bridgehead and enabled combat elements to cross onto Frisch-Nerung spit. For demonstrated heroism in battle Comrade Shubin is recommended for award of the title Hero of the Soviet Union."
