How To Store And Display Awards.
Thanks Doc--I'll give it a try tonight after work.
BTW, can you use the velco included in the instant-sb kit to hang medals? In other words, is the velcro they give you strong enough to hold up medals?

That's why I want to put a spacer between the screwback order and the backplate of the shadowbox, so the screwposts *don't* stick out too far.
My one concern is that there may be chemicals in foam that will adversely react with the order's metal base.

Eric,
That's why I switched to drilling a hole in the backing to mount my screwposts. Nack, The velcro is strong enough to hold a medal in place.

Any suggestions?

How about a small stack of either metal or nylon washers? I imagine that either is pretty inert.

Nack,
It sounds like it should be okay to use them. I'm not 100% sure but I think it would work just fine.

I went to Home Depot and got some brass nuts just a bit bigger than the screwpost thinking they'd do the job, which they will. But then I found, at Michael's again, what will be better I think. They're miniature wood wheels.
1st attached image is those wheels.
2nd is what I decided to frame in this thread: military medals only
3rd is what gets done next: the labor-only group
4th is what may get done seperately or....: military service medals

Well you and Eric have inspired me to start on some display work I have been ignoring. It is good to see each of you sally forth to greatness.

I have started to put my Sports/1980 Olympic Pins and Badges together.

I must be loosing my mind, I thought I say some soviet postage stamps on a thread today. I must have drempt it. But speaking of soviet stamps, they can provide an interesting (and eye appealing) addition to a display. I used some in my BAM display. I have also used post cards and matchbox covers that relate to the subject matter. I found a great matchbox collectors site. I just paste the picture and resize it.
