KGB General service visor cap at eB
#21
DougD Wrote:now, back to the point of the thread...Cageybee, is the cap yours, or are you thinking of buying it? Do you happen (cross my fingers) to have the entire KGB Guard uniform? I have only seen one genuine one in the past 10 years, would love to see a new thread started here on them.

If you have more Guards uniform items, post'em!

Here is mine...Only the boots are not correct:thumbsdown....And I'm too old to be a Mausoleum guard:chuckle, otherwise all OK:)

Here is a close up of the "badge."

I have had bad luck with stuff breaking in the pass, so I'm not going to try to take it off to get a photo of the back.

Sorry for bringing bad news but your insignia is not the correct one.
It is part of a unoffical production.
1-The original insignia has a smooth design on the branches and not a fishbone pattern as yours.
Here is a pic of an original

And here is a pic of an original one's reverse (you will notice the difference in the fixation type)-these "smooth" insignias are still used actually by the Presidential Regiment and are worn above the right breast pocket by the honor guard at the monument of the unknown soldier in the garden Alexander in Moscow:
