Komsomol awards

[Lapa]

Hi All,

I finally received the package I mailed to myself a while back, so here is the book Sebastien mentioned:

[INDENT]Komsomol Awards, ed "Molodaya Gvardia", 1983
127 pages, print run 100,000, original price 20 kopecks :p

Mark,

You are in BIG trouble now.....

So, please help us to close the gaps in those threads regarding Komsomol awards...

Tal,

I guess that's what you get for bragging about your new toy ;)
I'll have a look at the threads and see what I can do, but I must say that there are very FEW official awards (as opposed to badges, distinctions, etc). Maybe we can make a separate thread with only the actual awards.

Hello,

Would anyone make an estimate at a reasonable price to pay for this item? Is it rare with document?

Thanks,
Keith

Hi Keith,

For whatever reason, it seems that Komsomol award documents are a bit tough to get. I'd say that this set could reasonably go between $5 and $10.

Acording to Goodman's book, this is a Komsomol Military Participation Badge - Soviet Air Force.
1970s (?).

Ch.

Any info on this Goodman book?

Hello guys,
What was that badge awarded for?
Is it a common one?

Thanks.

[Nota Bene]

Matteti,

It's not very common. It was established in 1971 and awarded to "junior lieders" in live stock production.

This is about as old a thread as they get on this forum, but it has the content I was looking for.

I'm not an avid VLKSM award collector, but when I was rearranging my badges into more sensible groups, I discovered this one "for the development of new ("virgin") lands." I personally think it's a nice looking badge, probably 1950s with the Pobeda Factory screw plate and the quality enamels. In my opinion, these are often overlooked because we all know how cool agriculture is.

I have a friend who is an "inactive" forum member who loves all things VLKSM. Maybe he'll start posting again with some of the interesting ones in his collection.:)
