No, Admirals had a belt similar to a general's parade belt, with or without suspension for a dagger. The buckle for admirals is different from that for generals.

I think that there is a slight misunderstanding here. You must mean the gold belt worn outside the tunic as AFAIK, generals never wore this type of black belt, worn under the tunic. Logic world dictate no, admirals have a different buckle for this type of belt, but I have doubts as the buckle would normally not be seen if worn under the tunic.

Willie,
If you were clearer in your questions, it would be easier to answer them. So, if you care to rephrase more precisely what you want to know, I (and others) will be more than happy to answer. Marc

Now, that's more like it. The answer remains the same: NO.
They wore the same belt with suspensions for a dagger as generals, save for the buckle. Marc

That was my guess too, but there are two regular hangers and one hook. If there was one hook and one hanger, yes probably. Thats how the US army does it with swords but not daggers... Wait a sec, maybe that hook is for honor guard only, with swords?

Tal Inbar Wrote:Could I have some details on this one? This is model 1955 dagger belt. It’s replaced short lived model 1951 admirals and generals of the navy dagger belt, model 1940 commissioned officers dagger belt and model 1945 senior chief petty officers dagger belt. It was made from black muar silk fabric with black velvet lining and never from leather. Leather dagger belt was introduced in 1945 for navy’s chief petty officers (мичман) and sergeant majors of the navy (старшина) who were entitled to wear naval uniform.
