Isn't St George associated with the city of Moscow somehow - a saint/patron?
And Eddie, do you happen to own the two medals you posted? How do they look and feel in real life? In photos they look good!
Sergei
Sergei,
Yes St george is the patron of the whole Moscow region and is shown in the coat of arms. Sorry to say no they are not awards I own just a few pics I found looking for laurents Badge. My favourite one that I saw has to be the one shown below though, and guess what its called?....... Holy Sergei :) They do look very nice quality dont they.

That's just great! Now I have no choice but to try and get one of those :D, will probably have to sell the car, the cat and the house to pay for it though. It is interesting, the Russian church awards seem rare and still not being faked? Sergei.

Taz,
Here is one I acquired at the weekend. Quite similar but slightly different to the one you posted here. It was described as "Order for church merits, 60 mm in diameter, 47,15 gr, silver (no hallmarks), multi-piece construction, hard enamel". Photo is attached.
Do you know anything more about this history of these awards? Which book or source did you take those original photos from? Thanks.

Kind Regards,

Hi Shane,
A lot of the new Russian awards from the organisations, including a part just for church awards is from a site in Russian. As it is a commercial site i've sent you a pm.
Best regards Eddie.
