Question: Does the Romanian Ordinul Tudor Vladimirescu / Order of Tudor Vladimirescu belong in this distinguished company? While it isn't a "top order", it seems to fit? Or does it? Wisdom is solicited.
I am, by the way, reshaping this comparative project into a JOMSA article. Interesting, Ethiopia, Hungary, Iraq, Kampuchea, Laos, Nicaragua (not quite sure how to deal with them, not sure they "fit"?), Poland, Romania (maybe?), Yemen, and Yugoslavia (taking Warsaw Pact+COMECON-Finland/Mexico+Kampuchea) seem to have had no such orders?

Don't forget the newest member of the club.
I suppose I'll have to take some good pics of my trio of Kim Il-Sungs and stick them up in the DPRK section. All three are numbered <250, but only c900 were awarded up to 2012.

I'll make mention of this one (and other named-after-people awards), but my focus will be on the "top-drawer" awards. (And with no reason to mention pre- or post-socialist things except when there is a direct carry-over [Order of Skanderberg].) If I dealt with, for example, all the named-after-someone PDRA awards, it would be a very long article indeed.
I will need high-quality images of: Czechoslovakia: Řád Klementa Gottwalda / Order of Klement Gottwald DDR: Karl-Marx-Orden / Order of Karl Marx DPRK: 김정일 훈장 / Order of Kim Il-Sung Cuba: Orden José Marti / Order of José Marti and, if included, Romania: Ordinul Tudor Vladimirescu / Order of Tudor Vladimirescu. Hint-hint, beg, plead. grovel. Any help will be acknowledged.

This currently is the highest award of the DPRK ranked equally with his father's Order. Supposed to be "side by side" above all the other awards excepting the Hero Stars. It also has the same ribbon as its equal.

That same ribbon got me thinking. Has there ever been another state decoration that had an equal with interchangeable ribbons? Not including "with swords"/"without swords" etc of the same award.
Have the Koreans done something new?

That is an incredibly good question. I am trying to think . . . . Maybe, maybe? Despite how some like to "snark" about Korea, it wouldn't be the first time.
