Patriotic War.
The serial number is the most important factor in finding out when and where it was produced. As millions were needed all sorts of "enterprises" were churning them out for the best part of the 1980's.

Here is an example of an unresearchable OPWII'85. Just far too common a name with the information available. 26-1 chance unfortunately.

Today I did find the first example on "the site" where an award citation has been linked to a serial number (It was a Red Star) - hopefully there will be considerably more of this in the future!

Hello, Would like opinions on this Order of the Patriotic War. I have only owned the 1985 version and dont have any experience with the earlier ones.
Thanks

There is no issue with authenticity (as I stated before on this dealer), the issue is price.

I understand that but any dealer can make mistakes. He is vouched for by everyone I've heard from and I trust him myself but I always want to have other opinions and not just accept the piece on the dealers reputation

I also appreciate your help with these pieces I've posted

Thanks
John
