This is a great photo showing General Muzichenko after his capture (probably with his chief of staff) by the Germans.

Both Red Army Generals are wearing the M1940 uniform, neither with medals / orders. Note that the cap badge broke off on the 2nd generals cap (you can still see the outline).

This was up for auction on the big auction site. Hope to see it in a future publication.

That is a great picture Doug. That is something you just don't see everyday. Clete

It can't be Muzychenko - he became a Lieutenant-General in 1940 and was captured in 1941. Here we see two Major-Generals.

The seller stated it was Muzichenko; could be he had not yet added his 3rd star yet in combat conditions (would also explain his having the same rank as his chief of staff - if that who the guy is). dd

In front is commander of 12th army of South West Front general-major Ponedelin Pavel Grigorievich and behind him commander of 13th rifle corps general-major Kirillov Nikolay Kuzmich. This photograph was taken on August 7 1941 near city of Uman were they both were captured.

I hope for the buyer it was not sold from a picture seller in Kiev who sell reproduction Soviet WWII pictures as original pictures.

They usually take old Agfa photo paper to print their reproductions. :thumbsdown
