Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
kliment Wrote:Hello Al -Muell,
You can find the picture, and some others, quite easily in searching Tarcza 76 in Goggle image. Note that the badge I speak about is the little round one, not the ubiquitous grundwald shield.
For Charlet I have a little but interesting picture of Djurov in the late eighties.

I am sorry, i haven't noticed this other badge.:( Mea culpa.

Great photo btw!

Collored colars and caffs for marshal and senior marshals of aviation and armor were abolished on August 15 1945.
Vershinin was promoted to Marshal of Aviation on June 3 1946.
He is another happy fellow who rushed to photographer before he had a chance to visit the tailor shop. Except he was promoted to the rank of Marshal of Aviation on August 19 1944.

Interesting. I didn´t knew some soviets were awarded royal bulgarian decorations!
Were they issued by the newborn communist government before running out of royal stock?
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

The Who, Won't get fooled again

To all:

With this new data in hand, two observations:

- Existing colored collar/cuff M1945 Marshal VPs become all the more rare/valuable.

- Thrown together, non-provenanced "Marshal" VPs for Tank, Artillery and Aviation branch "Marshals" are made all the easier (using the base M1945 VP G.O uniform with some slapped on marshal boards). Buyer beware!

You were absolutely right. The badge turned out to be Tarcza'76 commemorative badge.
Thanks!

I need some help with finding more information about the naval pilot N.V. Chelnokov. Would anyone be able to provide me with the serial numbers of the Hero of USSR medals awarded to him? Perhaps dates / citations? Any other information pertaining to his awards or service?

Many, many thanks in advance. If you have the information in Russian, that's also ok.

Ok, I guess I have this info:

He was Major-General of Aviation and awarded the title "Hero of USSR" on June 14, 1942 and August 19, 1944. Also found the photo attached here.

Any further info would be greatly appreciated. If you happen to have any of the awards given to him, please contact me.

Hello Mahdi!
It's my pleasure to be able to help you a little bit. I remember that you were the first person out of Ukraine from who I bought awards when I started to collect in 2001-2002. I remember it was the most common jubilee medals but you were very kind with me and contributed to make me addicted! I am happy to see you are back on the forum.

It's pretty late and I am supposed to be sleeping already, but I found a bit of info for you that I wanted to share.

His full name is: Челноков, Николай Васильевич
Chelnokov, Nikolai Vassilievich

According to Warheroes (which seems to be offline at the moment!), his HSU number are:

1- 14.06.1942 ( medal № 653)
2- 19.08.1944 ( medal № 24, second award)

He is one of only 5 navy pilot to have been decorated with two HSU gold star medal:

259 Fleet aviators were decorated with the Hero of the Soviet Union award while 5 of them – A.E. Mazurenko, V.I. Rakov, B.F. Safonov, N.G. Steranyan and N.V. Chelnokov were decorated twice.
(Naval Aviators)

Wikipedia in Russian has his biography here: Click Here (in russian)

And here you can find the cached (text) version of the page for Chelnokov on warheroes.ru by Google:

Maybe later, their website will be up again, but until that time, you can access the cached version which is not too bad!

Hope that's all you needed.
