Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
Nice, albeit pretty standard stuff. Looks like late-issue pilots wings and jump badge.
One would think he'd have more sexy stuff but that's to come soon, methinks.

OK, that's better. If this really was Adm tributes M45, this is about what it would have looked like at Victory Parade. 4 screwbacks on right and one in midchest correspond to holes in the uniform. This presumes that by the time of the parade he had gotten his 2 Ushakov and 1 Nakhimov first class orders already but not his 1945 awarded lenin yet. It also requires conversion of his first red banner to suspension but not the lenin yet.
I guess we'll never know for sure. Only the ORS and VoG are real although if any one wants to trade a real ushakov first class, I'll give them the whole uniform for it.

It seems the uniform could have belonged to Tributs, Galler, Golovko, Oktyabrsky, Alafuzov, Levchenko or Kucherov... I don't think there is any way to narrow it down further.

Not unless I find a business card in a secret pocket. There is no hole for a hero star which cuts out a few admirals. Ah, well. Dressing for Tributs jazzed it up nicely and will have to do for now.

Since logic dictates that no one could know for sure without eyewitness testimony what type of pistol was used, I have to wonder what exactly do you mean by your question?

I think he's trying to refudiate that the Soviets killed the Poles at Katyn and place the blame on the Germans

Gents,

One need only review the "Eugene" thread. Apologist comes to mind.

I was trying to give him the benefit of a doubt. I don't know why even an apologist would question this one. The Russians have admitted the killing.

Well perhaps. Attached are 2 photos of boxes of Soviet re-issued German's pistols. The collector who own these pistols told me that German engineering are so good that you can take a part from different makers and put together one of these pistol and it will function normally.

Could the Soviets use German pistols/guns on those unfortunate Poles? I think so.
