Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
Does look like he was trying to collect one of each. Certainly liked the red stars. Great picture

Yes, the pattern of embrodery on the collar tabs of my tunic is exactly the same as that on one of the pictures. They actually don't "all look the same to me". The picture you posted and the nice picture at the onset of the post are more complicated and, presumably of higher rank. Are you always this sour or is it possible for you to contribute to the discussion without being rude? I'd like to hear what you have to say and you have some great pictures in your files. The sarcasm and insults just get a little sad after awhile.

Jeffrey, that´s some nice uniform you got there, Congrats :thumbsup
Do you have closer pictures of the screwback awards and badge?
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

The Who, Won't get fooled again

only the opw and ors are real on the screwbacks. Other medals are righteous.

An Order of Lenin, a Red Banner and labour awards as well!

So much metal on his chest - makes you wonder how he got up after sitting down!

The design of the first picture is the same as the others, only the quality of the embroidery is superior. If I'm right this uniform, created in 1947, is an award for the "honorary" miners. They can wear on the cuff some navy style braid for service length.

slava1stclass Wrote:Unlike the cloth airborne insignia depicted in a sister thread (in which the images were of enlisted men exclusively), all of these images are of officers. I don't know if there is a correlation.

All members of special anti-tank units in 1942 – 1956 were wearing sleeve patches indiscriminately. And in a sister thread the images were not exclusively of enlisted men as well.

Timoshenko and Budenny are easy. I'm thinking Shaposhnikov for the comissar. Who do you think with his back turned and the darker cap?
