A nice order given to rifle batallion commander Михаил Никифорович Киселев for street fights in the battle of Berlin. Furtheron comrade Kiselev was wounded 5(!) times during the war, which makes him a very lucky guy surviving the war.

In the battle of Berlin on 23 – 24 April 1945, he skillfully organized the offensive and the cooperation with other military branches. He liberated 22 blocks and his battalion first burst into the suburbs of Berlin. And thus was made the military order of command in battle proved to be brave and resolute, wherein were captured 57 German soldiers and officers.

He deserves a governmental award.

Great story! Surprisingly few citations for Berlin are seen lately.
Since he was an officer, It may be agoodidea to get the service record - if not to see hisservice history, at least to see his photograph.

Service records have been locked down. Extremely little chance of getting one at this time.

Thank you very much for your nice replies! I also do prefer getting all the information concerning awards, I really like - but sometimes it is quite hard due to archival regulations. Maybe in future :)

Just 2 weeks ago I got a service record card (actually 3 of them) for mjr. Stal'nov (part of his group was already posted here).
I know that personnel files are virtually inaccessible right now, but the cards?
