Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
During the period of fighting beginning 12.08.43 Comrade Danilkin has proven himself a bold, motivated, and decisive officer.
During a vicious German counterattack by superior forces including tanks on 8th September, 1943, our regiment’s left neighbor was heavily engaged. Receiving the mission to reestablish our left flank, Comrade Danilkin led a group of four submachinegunners, stopped a retreating small unit, organized a defense, them forcefully led an attack with this unit resulting in the repulsion of the enemy and capture of Hill 187.2.
That day Comrade Danilkin fulfilled another order in a brilliant fashion – to disrupt a group of Germans attempting to flank our right neighbor. To accomplish this task Lieutenant Danilkin took a company of submachinegunners and three PTR anti-tank men. He quickly led the group to the enemy flank and with a sudden strike repelled the enemy to their assault position, destroying an enemy cannon preventing our advance and as many as ten German submachinegunners, resulting in the successful repulsion of the Hitlerites’ counterattacks.
Comrade A.N. Danilkin is deserving of the Order of the Patriotic War II Class.
