Wow, you just described the research that came back on my "Victory over Germany" award. Did you read my award citation before it was sent to me?

Yes I agree. the better the researched material the higher the price. I think I will give it a miss and put my hard earned back into my Glory addiction. Paul, your Sniper award could be my lucky 69th Glory, that is if you really, really want to part with it:D;) Brendan:thumbsup

Brendan:thumbsup[/QUOTE] Brendan, why don't we go for a round number like "80" or "100". You can PM me, but I'm in the middle of a move and won't even have access to it for 2-3 months.

I saw that as well. I've never heard mention of a real RS box. I suspect it's Yugo or another Eastern Block country's award case.

Hard to say, it could be the real-size box. I've seen pictures with similar boxes of decorations just prior to awarding to both WWII and Afghan vets.

Maybe they used boxes generically but the dimensions of this box look like it's made for a suspension award. I have a 1995 veterans badge (OPW sort of thing) and it comes in a square box.

Guys, I have been offered a star to buy and am wondering about the bayonet. Even though the number is about 50,000 lower than Alex's numbering system for the "curved bayonet" there seems to be things about the soldier that says this just that, a "curved bayonet".

I just picked one up (s/n 2799661) that pretty clearly shows the "curved bayonet", and it looks just like yours in your scan, but mine is a bit more worn.

What do you think about this star? The enamel looks different to me but it could be the photo.
