Red Star.
Well, those three are pretty darn nice. :thumbsup
I'd give my left eyetooth for a screwpost base RS. Alas, with the US economy tanking badly, the Euro being too strong, the new Russian collectors snapping up just aboot everything, and my own pitiful finances being in the crapper I'll just have to be content with enjoying your beauties.

Bill, I think I recognize your name as a long-time collector. Have I seen it regularly somewheres, most likely the WAPF?

Irregardless, welcome to the show. :)

Now you need to start saving your pennies for a screwback.

With this scan, I see a "0" instead of a nine. But, for me the question is now 2021488 or 2021988? I've got to go back and look at some of my stars, but I think I remember some 9's as being a two-stroke letter, with the left stroke being a short curve (similar to a zero, but cutting in halfway down), whereas 4's seemed to have been three-stroke numbers. I'll need to dig into the pile and take off some srewbacks to see what I have int that range.

curious about the first one with the "E" on the left arm and the third one with the replaced screwpost. Any information on either?

Jeff,

It is a maker's mark. That occured fairly often on early awards, and the practive was then discontinued by early-mid wartime.

I am still awaiting the return of research on these particular Orders. I have no information about the replaced screwpost on Nr. 12107. You have a very good eye. I never noticed that. Here is a scan of the obverse of that Order.
