Firstly, No problem that I see. Seems that this one might yield some good research since it was awarded before the "Long Service" range that started about 20,000 later.
Secondly, Yes, a very good looking "Long Service" award from the 50's.
Thirdly, While we are posting new Stars, here is one I recently picked up as well. A nice MzPP that I got for a good price on our local auction site.
I've read most gratefully dateline opinions about the serial numbers of my stars.
My question is where shall I look to learn about about this subject?
I have looked on AlexF's site that shows the known serial ranges and I am none the wiser.
I understand that these awards were not issued in a neat linear sequence. Can anyone enlighten me?
Cheers!
Battleworn or just neglected?
Later part of 1943 I think. Battered it may be but it's crying out to be researched.

"Nice! This is actually one of the earliest known ORS without the screwpost base :thumbsup"
Thanks for the info Marc, its a nice bonus for me. :) I have another award in the post that I've not seen the reverse of, its going to be my first screwpost base, 189 *** :thumbsup
I really do have a terribly soft spot for this award, it was love at first sight:heartbeat
Thank you for the Bryansk front tip Desantnik, I think I will have to purchase a Glantz book and begin my research library proper!
