I'm not suggesting that these badges are bad, but aren't these badges pretty heavily faked? Or do changes in the field just make me overly paranoid?
#55
Thanks you Ibaya for to share your information. Now I can fill already the name in on their sheet.

Regards
Marc

Question about badge #10 BBMY. I purchased a similar badge from a highly reputable east coast dealer some time ago and it was indicated to me this was for the Highest Naval School (for NKVD / MGB Naval Border Guards). Is the badge for Submarines or Border Guards, or both?
#58
Tom,

As far as I know that's not true. It is exactly what Ibaya told you.

You say similar, not identical. How is your badge different? It would be helpful if you could post an image ...

Ibaya; Its the exact same badge only not the badge that was posted is what I meant. Not certain I know how to post the image. Anyway the Dealer claimed it was for Naval Border Guards. Makes reference to "History of Awards and Insignia of Russian MVD, 1802-2002", p. 385, fig. 4.6.1.
