Soviet Uniforms and Russian Federation Armed Patches
#11
Al-muell Wrote:Silver field officers' shoulderboards, unless I am mistaken, were abolished in either 1969 or in 1974. Anyway, altough that mix of patches is something that could have happened (If You look up S. Zaloga's book on soviet Airborne forces, there are pictures of paratroopers wearing similar mix), the fact that the boards are silver to me indicates clearly that this uniform is put-togeather.

So these are Soviet Army Officer's field shoulderboards? What does the sliver and blue stand for? Again excuse my ignorance.

They are not field shoulder boards, but rather shoulder boards for aviation junior officer white shirt. Can you make a photo of what the upper edge of the boards look like?

Could perhaps be naval aviation white service uniform boards as well.

RedLion,

Those are shirt boards, and definitely do not belong on your jacket.

These are for parade-walking out plain shirt. If you get one you could attach them to it if they´re not included.
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

The Who, Won't get fooled again

Blue on white is shirt shoulderboards.
Blue on silver is for administrative personnel.

Yours are blue on white for the white shirt.

silver+ air force blue=technical air force personnel, but not at the time when this jacket was in use, and it applied for normal 4-sided boards. theese are 6-sided board for a white shirt
