Unusual early aviation badge
#1
I purchased this recently with a number of other badges. It appears to be a variant of the early aviation school badges but it lacks any enamel finish to the diamond and the swords are larger than usual. It appears to be made from silver and is of good quality multi piece construction. It is 3.5 cms wide and just under 4 cms high. Has anyone come across this particular piece before ?

Thanks in advance

Possibly, but why would it have been hand made ? Have you seen this before ? The quality of manufacture is very good so it was definitely professionally done.

Perhaps it was a special requisition?
I've heard of that done before, even with a guards badge once!

But I am not sure.

Compare with original M38, the swards on M36 had the same shape.
