management and administrative personnel insignia
#1
You guys were so helpful with my mining turned into komsomol badge, I thought I'd see if anyone can identify this badge. I'm not even completely sure it's soviet but helmet does have a star on the front. Pin is made of stamped brass and has to prong fasteners in the back. It is 2 cm in diameter. Ideas?

I'm 98% it is not Soviet, as in USSR. It is probably a collar branch of service insignia for a Warsaw pact country. I don't believe DDR, I'll go out on a limb and say Poland or Hungary.

You're probably right. It seemed a bit big for a collar device but the prong backs suggest such. I appreciate the input.

While looking for something else, I found this one in Soviet Military Uniforms & Insignia 1918-1958 on plate 68. It is a collar tab for "management and administrative personell of all branches" from 1936 until no later than 1955.
