Enlisted men in the field. - Nack - 10-30-2005 Can anyone tell me if any of these are Soviet, and wartime? They all have cyrillic lettering cut or written on them, but there are no visible stamps. Thanks. After some hunting around the internet, I've discovered that there were Soviet issue brown-leather ammo pouches for use with captured Mannlicher rifle clips. On the other hand, I thought that I also read somewhere that leather ammo pouches were issued specifically for carrying Nagant rifle clips. Anyone have have any info on this stuff? Thanks. (And if anyone can tell me what the writing says, I'd be grateful for that as well). Looks like the owner's name was written on it. It's no coincidence that the shirts are the same ... one of the founding commanders of the Soviet paratroops came from the naval infantry, and that was one of the things he brought over. |
