Fake "Capture of" Campaign Medals

You can see some variance in rings (meaning I didn't think that was the real disqualifier), but I think the Vienna leaves look fuzzy in a cast sort of way.

Here is a Vienna medal with U-shaped ring. Looks like a fake to me.

But my question is, were original Vienna medals with U-shaped ring produced? Any pictures?

It's hard to tell from the picture if it is a cast fake or a badly pitted original with a repaired ring. My gut feeling says "BAD!"

No, I don't think Vienna medals were made with a "U" ring, but I have seen some flat "O" rings that looked like "U".

I also never saw a U-shaped Vienna medal. As I saw in the last days two of them with these rings on e-bay I think they are bad.
They were sold very cheap.

Ciao. This is a Capture of Koenigsberg V1 I have just got. Please have a look and write your opinions. Note the suspension ring is soldered shifted to the edge rather than in the center, is it sign of forgery?

Sergio, I can't vouch for which variation it is, but everything looks fine to me. The very slightly off-center ring is not off enough to worry about, in my opinion.
