Now I got another tip from my grandparents´ fellow jeweler. With this you will remove the verdigris much better than with the soap/brush tip, but you gotta be careful with this one if you don´t want to kiss the patina goodbye: Place the item into a deep cup some white vinegar and let it rest for 10-15 minuts and then remove the verdigris with the toothbrush. It works excellent when you have too much of it or if it appears in some hard to access corners(letters, wreaths, face details, etc).
I´ve had good results with the copper NK Guards badge I posted before. After removing it, the vinegar made the copper look much more clearer (like when you soak a piece of cloth with chlorine) and I was afraid that the patina would dissapear, but surprisingly, it came back a couple days later. However that was not the case with my stalingrad medal, that now looks like in mint condition.
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight
The Who, Won't get fooled again
