This is supposed to be an MGB ID document issued in Belorussia. I am highly suspect of any would-be very scarce documents like this one though should it prove to be fake, they counterfeiters have taken the extra cunning step of making it seem as though someone tried to "erase" the signature of the issuing commander.
I used "auto correct" on the first photo which lightened up the darker color of the paper.
My usual immediate points of doubt are the photograph and the blurred stamp mark on it. That seems in my limited experience to be more of a problem on more modern photo paper than original ones. Moreover, I have also noticed that the stamps used, especially on older docs, tended to be metal rather than rubber and left a deep impression into the photo that usually left the same impression on the document just under the photo.
I always have initial doubts when the return date is blank. I know there are many examples of legitimate IDs on which no date is shown where the owner relinquished the ID for a "renewal" or reassignment.
Though possibly a minor detail, I would think that the person writing out the name would have been more aware of the "219" being in the way of the last letter. I would like to know if anyone is aware of whether the IDs were filled out beforehand and then the numbers were stamped or if it was the other way round?
All thoughts will be appreciated.
