Much thanks for the help Art! Sorry to have not read the FAQs earlier; I guess I am just a little too used to hardforum.com.

By the way, what is a good price for a general's field belt? I found one on ebay for $70 that I was thinking of getting. Also, sorry I have not had time to upload pictures; school has been crazy this week.

Snobok,
$70 is not a bad price IF it is a complete general's field belt. Marc |

The belt seems to be complete from the provided photos; it has both the belt and the shoulder strap, and the buckle is correct. I'll see if it is still there. I did not realize when I got this uniform how expensive certain items were; had I realized that, I probably would not have bought the uniform (boots were $70 also, uniform was $270, replica hero star-$20, poorly arranged ribbon bar-$12). Overall, I feel like I overpaid for the uniform.

that's the way collecting goes
I started collecting gas masks. Then I started to display them in my office but needed the helmets to go with the masks. All in all, I've probably spent twice as much on helmets as masks.
The trick is to not be in a big hurry and overstretch your budget. I would also say to avoid impulse buys but that would be somewhat hypocritical of me as I've picked up some of my best...and worst...pieces that way. |

price
$270 for the entire uniform is not a bargain, but it is not out of line. It's a bit nicer than a modern generals service uniform; is air force, and in good condition. Also, its not 1980's,has a bit of 'real cold war age' to it, so thats a plus.
