German Presentation Cavalry Sword:

German Gold & Blue Presentation Cavalry Straight Blade Palash Type Sword presented to a Franco-Prussian War veteran on the 20th anniversary of Prussia's victory in the warof 1870/71. Rare maker , Carl Kaiser, Solingen. Excellent unsharpened blade, everything is nice and tight , no parts wiggling, ray skin grip with intact wire.I can't make out the rank of this veteran, perhaps some advanced German sword collector can help.
I just received the following information from a fellow collector:"Paymaster Emil Schmidt 1890"
and "Senior (Horse-) veterinarian Adolf Schmidt 1866 1870/71
It was obviously dedicated/presented to the paymaster in 1890, and included a dedication to (probably his father) the senior veterinarian. The veterinarian Adolf Schmidt obviously served during the Prussian-Austrian War of 1866 and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71.
