Tan Beret
I've seen Soviet digital camo green, airborne blue, MVD red, black, green berets - for what or by whom was the tan one worn?
The dealer told me it was a field beret, but I'm skeptical. |

Re: Tan Beret
I don't know if any of them is true, as I haven't seen pre-91 tan berets, but I have heard 2 explainations: 1.They were berets worn by the ODON EM during basic training period
2.They were for some non-military formation like civildefense. |

Re: Tan Beret
If I remember correctly, the berets for women were blue before 1969 and wave green later. But I will check that.

Re: Tan Beret
Thank you all for your answers. Yes, the tan beret for women was WWII era.
Now that you mentioned it, I seem to remember a black and white picture of OMON trainees wearing a beret, but the color was indiscinerable. I know their uniforms were khaki or tan color so I'll have to check to see if the tone is the same. |

Re: Tan Beret
It seems You are right. My 88 reg book says that for parade/walking out the beret should be wave green or blue (in air force) and khaki for everyday and field uniform. Shortly - the beret should match the colour of the uniform.
I must admit I have never noticed that. So if the beret has one of the colour variations of the everyday/field m69 uniform it would be regulation woman's headwear. |
