USSR,

IMHO, the pontooner badge is :thumbsdown It furiously reminds me of current production.

The Sniper badge does not look bad, although I am not sure about the screwplate.

Do the WW2 fakes consist of ONE set of fakes or are there multiple versions?

For instance, I have a detailed photo of a fake scout badge. I can compare it to the item for sale and look for deviations. BUT if more than one good fake version exists, this becomes more problematic. So how many fake versions are there?

OR for instance take post 139
In that post it got the thumbs down as a fake, but it is clearly different from this piece which is being sold as a reproduction.
Is the verdict in 139 suspect or are there two different fakes?

Both of these are being sold as repros, there seem to be subtle differences. For instance the dots in the shield border are larger on one than the other (or maybe it is just the lighting?), but there are no big differences between them.

Re: Fake "Excellent" Badges.

Meyerse,

There are MANY different fakes, and new ones hit the market regularly. So, instead of trying to identify the features of fake badges, you should do exactly the opposite: identify the features of originals in the various types of production.

Re: Fake "Excellent" Badges.

Hi all!

I'm selling the sniper badge on post 235 on e and an other e... member contacted me and told me the badge is a contemporary fake. I'm willing to retract this item but I have to be sure it is not original. Your opinion will make me decide what to do.

Thanks!

Re: Fake "Excellent" Badges.

Thanks Desantnik!

I removed the listing and made a new one without the sniper badge.

Cheers
