It is odd. I have had in a few (and I stress few) M1943 generals / marshals parade caps. They are very rare, about 10 times more rare than the M1945 generals / marshals parade caps. The embroidery on this cap, the badge,and even the material does not sit right with me. It could b because of the flash, but I think not. It might be an original that he been messed with or restored but either way I am not enchanted with it.

Compare it with the M1943 generals parade cap on pages 27-29 of Sinclair/Drabik and i think you will see what I mean.

Has anyone else not noticed that the grain of the grey material on the front of the crown runs in two different directions, almost (but not quite) perpendicular to one another. I do not believe (though I am NO expert in this area) that this would be so on a genuine cap, as it just plain looks bad, and seems unworthy of a soviet general officer's parade uniform.
Thoughts, anyone?

Though i am not wild about the material on this cap, the pattern itself is OK. Left side of the seam goes up and down, while right of the seam is left to right at an angle.
