Submarine Badges
I used to have a bunch of submarine badges...all sold of on ebay years ago. These two are my favorite so they are still here for y'all to look at.

v/r Dat Nguyen[ Thanks Dat...I really like the Submarine badges also. I probably have between 100 to 150 of them. I will take some photos sometime and post them. The shark badges are really neat. Thanks for sharing. |

Wow, very impressive. I have only one humble little submarine badge so far.

Hello Doug,
It's for a "commander of submarine ship". The badge was established in 1942 and continued up to end of Soviet Union. I can't tell anything about authenticity, but I know there are so many around and they all look a bit different (variations or copies?). It measures 24 X 73mm and has a "Pobeda" factory mint mark on screwplate. It's easier to guess the age of the badge for "commander of surface ship" as this one was introduced in 1987 only and depicts a "Alexander Nevsky"-type cruiser. |

Thanks...i was unsure if they were given to all Sub officers, or just the commanders...i'd like to try to nail down when it was made to see if it could go on a WWII tunic.

This is a 1943 variation of the badge and this one has the correct screwplate. It was given to commanders, first mates, deputy commanders for political issues, and mechanical engineers (not sure about the correct English terms).

Re: A few badges of interest.
Andreas,
As far as I can tell, it's OK and with original screwplate. Alexei |
