Thanks!
It is interesting to see that general Afonin's wife had a pass too (maybe she used to visit him at work...):

It seems to me that this id book was given to Alexandru Kuzmichy Beleevskomu that allows him to service objects in the city. It states that he was studying in "Estonglavenergo" and is qualified "2nd level Stropalshik" (I am not sure what that means).
It could be a form of certificate of complition. This is a civilian id that would allow him to work for the city.

This seems to be a certificate from NKVD stating that a woman named Kornilova Nina Konstantinovna is not under supervision (I dont know if there is a better way to translate uchet) of People Komissariat of Internal Affairs.
Can we have a closer look.

Some nice details are that it is signed by two state security officers and it is marked top secet (sov. sekretno) at the top right.

I would like to have information about this document.
It was inside the award booklet for the medal for valiant labour (awarded 16th October 1948). I think that this man was a miner, because in the lot there were also (for the same person): -the medal for the restoration of donbass coal mines +award card (awarded 25th April 1948) -order of the Red Banner of Labour + award booklet (awarded 29th April 1953). Interesting doc!
It says that the recepient was awarded Medal for Labor Merit, but the doc itself has picture of Honored Miner badge. The doc is signed by the Minister of Mining Industry Zasadko. He was quite famous person, there's huge mining factory in Donbass, Ukraine named after him. Could this be substitute for the official award book? Best, William |
