I too started my collecting career with stamps. I still have a collection of Russian and Soviet stamps to 1945 or so.

Dear Guys

My 2 cents worth.

I enjoy collecting with a focus on the man (woman) behind the medal or order. This is what makes it interestings and special.

When you buy, look for quality becuase this can never be replaced. Quality can be through the deed or through the type of award. I have passed on items becuase it was too expensive or I though I could get better. How wrong I have been.

The important thing behind collecting is to learn as much as possible before jumping in. Time spent in recon is never wasted. Get as many books and reading matter on the subject and learn from it.

If something is good and you can strech yourself then buy it. I have never regreted buying something but i have regreted not buying.

regards from a warm african climate.

Munroe

It’s a very interesting statement: “I have never regretted buying something but I have regretted not buying.” I never thought about it and I am 100% agree with you Munroe. Looking at my collecting career, I have the same experience.
Thanks for reminding.
