And what about this one? I don't like it, therefore it has some chances of being good... :)

Thank you in advance
I do not think it's good, (Look carefully at the torch), but if it were, the price will go up, because the whole world is watching ... :D

Looking for some peace of mind.

Looks to me like a Type 3, Option 3 awarded in late 1944.
Opinions?

Thank you,

I wasn't satisfied with the pics I posted earlier.
These should help.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

Looks to me as if the original numbers were ground off, and new numbers put on with a rotating tool.
- Area around numbers looks dull...different than the upper part.
- Do I see faint outline of a '1' and '6' under the rotary 1 and 6?

Regards,

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

Thanks Leaftree,

Why would that be done do you think? Is it a time period alteration or has it been done later on to match a missing award in a award book?

Thnx!

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

My comment is only my opinion, I may be wrong. I would wait for others with more knowledge.
As for why, I doubt for a time period alteration, most likely to deceive for more money, matching an award book is a reasonable guess.

Serial number is engraved not in the style of a mint. Imho defenitely a bad one.

In general, there are a lot of reasons for this chanced serial numbers. Fitting to an award book, to get more money when selling. Short after the wall fall down, many persons who sold their awards removed serial numbers. Because they had the fear, that somebody can track the number and will punish them.
Now "bad persons" engrave new Serial numbers to sell them for higher prices.

Some Serial number chances were done by mint. Wrong number was engraved, renumbering a replacement Award for a lost one "duplicat". Some were renumbered when Leningrad mint moved to Krasnokamps during the war (expecially Newski in the 10.xxx rang and so on....)

But the whole piece looks strange. At the moment I do not have my reference pictures available.

best regards
Andreas

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

Thanks Andreas,

Would you say the medal itself is a copy or an original one with a altered serial number?
