History

The history that I have been able to obtain from this helmet, both provenance and origin:

"Coming from a Foreign War Veterans of Indiana (SoS?) post, obtained by a local collector, the helmet is signed by the members of this unit. There is a small book that describes the performance of this unit in the Vietnam War, but it was lost. This helmet was acquired by me in 2016. In "illegible" May 11, 2024. (and his signature)"

Condition

The mitchell camouflage helmet cover is perfect condition, the graffiti and annotations are perfectly legible. There are no tears or holes in the fabric. The steel pot has no dents, cracks or signs of corrosion.I have not been able to observe any serial or manufacturing number.The helmet liner I would say is in great shape, complete with all the straps: sweat headband, nape strapand helmet suspension. The liner chin strap appears to have been repaired. Maker is Westinghouse Electric Company manufacturer.

Awesome item that could possibly be placed in a UDT/SEAL veterans' meeting between the early 1980s and early 2000s. I have not seen anything like it before, a unique piece of US Navy SEAL history in the world.
