Hello Marsino
Thank you very much for your help! You are right about that, I found a picture (but the quality is not good) from another soviet badges related book.. it looks (according to this book...sorry I cannot remember the title... ) as a late 1940's early 1950's badge but with "void" areas around the antennas and under the guns... The non-void areas (like my bade) is not necessary fakes...I think the non-void are much stronger on those areas (antennas and guns), thus they cannot bend... or break.. I will try to send you better pictures during the weekend and before I will go away this Monday... Thank you very much!! Millie Grachie!!!! I will try to send you some pictures with the same angle as yours.. Cheers!! Yannis as you can see this badge has been bent... that means somebody had wear it... |

Re: Fake Submariner Badges
Many thanks in Italian is written "Mille Grazie", translated literally "A thousand thanks" :)
Unfortunately there are examples around, and without the support of concrete evidence, my opinion is as zero... Maybe you're talking about this book, but as you can see, your badge is not present. Last edited by marsino; 08-23-2015 at 01:14 PM. |

Re: Fake Submariner Badges
Borisov - The "commander of the submarine" Description: The stylized image of a submarine in the profile, type "Y", deployed on the left side. At its center is located five-pointed red star with a radial notch under the enamel and the hammer and sickle. All sign and all its parts are gilded. He raced on the right side of the chest in the center of the valve pocket. Made of brass. The size of 17x70 mm. Fixing with pins. As such, the mark lasted a little over a year, when the order of the Tax Code of the Navy of the USSR number 383 of October 16, 1943 was slightly improved his drawing: mark the outlines were refined, more realistically depicted periscopes, were removed from the star hammer and sickle, changed color (all sign oxidized under the old silver) and the method of mounting pin and nut. The size of 23x58 mm. In the 60 years it has been slightly modified its status. We received the right to wear the senior assistant to the commander of the submarine, deputy commander for political affairs and a mechanical engineer (commander B4-5) after giving orders to independent access to his duties. In this form, sign and status lasted until 1987, when the order of the USSR Ministry of Defense number 233 of 15 August 1987, he was transformed into a sign of "The Captain." Manufactured in Moscow Artel "Victory" Moscow City Cooperative Union of Metalworkers (later titled Plant Moscow City Executive Committee of the Soviets). In the future, as the sign was worn on the right side of the chest below the mark klassnosti, but before the "Guard". Last edited by marsino; 08-23-2015 at 05:49 PM. |

Borjorno marsino!!
Mille Grazie :) !!:cheers:cheers:cheers This badge is actually the one on the bottom of page 74 , badge #5... It has the same outlines, (look at the round end of the antennas/periscope...) the same dimensions, its made of brass and oxidized silver plated....the only difference is my badge was "non void " spaces between the antennas/periscope and the cannons... Is NOT a cast badge, is a struck made badge.... If you see closely in badge #5 you can see the remaining broken enamel in the corners of the red star....in the center of this star somebody has applied red paint.... it's pity because we cannot see if the star has inner rays (thin like the star in my badge ...or thicker like #4... Maybe in the Factory did not cut those "non void" spaces... maybe is a type between #4 and #5 (look at #4 in the Forward Cannon...) I can very easily use a dremel with a die cutter and I can remove those "non void" spaces....but I am not going to touch it :) ... If I have some free time I will make those "non void" spaces ...void spaces using Photoshop... and you will see ...its the same badge with # 5/ page 74 :) I really appreciate your help :) P.S : filo means Friend in Greek:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:cheers:cheers:cheers I just finish this ....operation :) Just look closely on the 2 subs....are the same.....Look also in the red star... |
