Patriotic War II,0811524,Teacher,74th Naval Infantry Brigade,Wounds
just recieved research on a naval group, I find this an intersting group as it has a OGPW II, RS, CSM, the later 2 given for long service, the OGPW II for wounds. I would be interested to find were I can find out more information about the 74th naval infantry brigade

Looks like he fought and was wounded in the battles for the Demyansk pocket. Multiple German divisions were surrounded for a month and a half. Ultimately freed, it set a precedent that would lead to confidence that the Stalingrad pocket could be maintained until they could be relieved. Of course the result was "not so much" in that case. According to Sharp the 74th was ultimately disbanded and the survivors used to reinforce other units.
