100 Years Academic Pilugin. The medal is in excellent condition (my scanner is not the best in the world :mad:)

Cosmonautics Committee of DOSAAF of the USSR Jubilee Medal 75th Birthday Anniversary of Academician V.N. Chelomei. Chelomei was the designer of the heavylifting Proton booster that is still in use today, the Almaz military Space station, and the TKS module that would later be used on the the International Space Station. Minted at the Moscow Mint in 1989. Quantity: 1,000 pieces.

In 1970 was established the Main Control Agency of Space Means (Главное управление космических средств - ГУКОС). From 1976 to 1986 Maksimov Aleksandr Aleksandrovich was Head of ГУКОС.

"30th Anniversary of Yu. A. Gagarin's Flight" (Second issue). The medal was instituted by the Cosmonautics Federation of Russia in March, 1991. The medals were manufactured at the Moscow Mint. Quantity: 3,000 medals. Obverse: "April 12, 1961," "Cosmodrome Baikonur." Reverse: "30th Anniversary of Gagarin's Flight." This medal is listed in SPACE EXPLORATION AWARDS: Catalog, Volume I.

Another noteworthy Regency Superior listing is Lot #578 "1984 50 Years to Yuri Gagarin [Cosmonaut Training Center] Medal with Citation." Awarded citation issued to Cosmonaut Vladimir Vasilyevich Kovalyonok and signed by Cosmonauts Gregory Timofeyevich Beregovoi and Pyotr Illich Klimuk as heads of Star City and the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. Opening bid: $120.00. Estimate: $250.00. A few of these medals have shown up on eBay and usually sell for $50.00 to $55.00, but never has there been one with a citation to a cosmonaut. It will be interesting to watch the bidding on this one! ;)

Noteworthy Regency Superior item is Lot #582 - "1995-2001 Gleb Lozino-Lozinsky Medals (x2)."

First (bottom) is the Cosmonautics Federation of Russia's "Academician A.D. Nadiradze Medal" and certificate awarded to Gleb Evgeniyevich Lozino-Lozinsky, NPO Molniya lead developer of the Soviet Spiral and Buran Space Shuttle Programs. The certificate is dated April 12, 1995, Cosmonautics Day. The medal was instituted jointly by the Moscow Heat Technology Institute and the Federation on March 12, 1993. Minted at the Moscow Mint. Quantity: 1,000 medals.

Second (top) is the Cosmonautics Federation of Russia's "Gleb Lozino-Lozinsky Medal" issued in his honor after his death in 2001. This is one of the newer medals we don't have much information on.

The amazing thing about these latest offerings is who they were awarded to. This reminds me of the auctions in the early 1990s. At that time, such personal items were sold by the cosmonautics community and family members because quite frankly they needed the money.

Did you ever consider the possibility that, just as happens with OMDs, blank booklets could be obtained - or worse, printed to order - and filled out?
Frankly, in today's Russia, cosmonauts and upper-end officials don't have such bad end-of-month periods anymore :rolleyes:

Here's another interesting Academician S.P. Korolev presentation medal. The inscription on this medal reads: <Main Constructor Rocket-Cosmic Systems Academician S.P. Korolev>.
