Medal "Presidential Scholarship".

Here is the Medal "Presidential Scholarship" (Medalia "Bursierul Preşedintelui") which was founded in 2006 by the Regional Council Of Dubăsari.
The Medal is made from painted brass and comes in a light plastic "cigarette case" type box of issue.
The Medal is the very highest educational award of the region and an extremely limited number are awarded each year. Each year's Medal has the date of issue.

This "cigarette case" contains a 2007 example.

The Medal itself is rather lightweight as many modern Moldovan items.

The matching Document.
I have obscured the name of the recipient as not only is she alive but she is also on many social networking sites. An April 1989 born Moldovan who has a name likened to a "French Stamp Collecting Cat" with a wide selection of personal information and photographs posted on the internet.

This brings to the fore the fact that many recipients of awards and service personnel can now be instantly contactable and a vast array of personal information and photographs can be gather with a minimal effort. When people think of "research" they think of vast damp dusty archives of text guarded by security services but this is all changing. Modern technology has made it possible not only to obtain this item but give me instant electronic communication and interaction with the recipient if I wished.
Many questions could be posed and answered in real time about modern awards and events surrounding them with instant replies.
Think what this means to the future of the hobby. Even if a service personnel is awarded posthumously they will likely leave an online footprint behind.

Presented along with the document (hand signed by the regional president) is a single reduced quality photograph of the recipient. A very Moldovan pose, every Moldovan I have ever photographed has asked me to take pictures of them posing with ripe fruit round their shoulders - Must be a Moldovan thing.
