Kirov 1930 Speech Ticket - Leningrad

Hi guys,

I was inspired by CtahhR's theater ticket posting to post this. It's one of the more random items in my collection--a uniface, December 1930 blank ticket for the Leningrad CPSU collective to a speech by Kirov--his summary of the December plenum of the Central Committee. Not sure who saved this blank ticket, or why..

"Without party member id, this ticket is invalid" :)

You wouldn't want any old riff-raff turning up and causing trouble! Anyone out there know what Kirov had to say? Other than the fact that Comrade Stalin was doing a perfect job.....

Yeah, I've tried reading some of those transcripts before and they are painfully boring. :) "We must accomplish and surpass the communist vision of the second 5 year plan!" (Applause. Standing Ovation. :) )

The 1930 plenum...a quick look says this was the second round of collectivization--and during this period in particular "control numbers" were set, by which half of the agricultural industry had to be collectivized in 1931.
80 years later, we see the photos of the countryside in this period...tragic stuff.
