Pioneers
I know of 2 items - hat and tie - that were issued to Pioneers. Was the white shirt brought from eac Pioneer own closet?
What - if there were - was the uniform of the adults who where in charge of the kids?

Tal,
The tie and shirt were standard issues, but apparently not the Pilotka - I've seen some odd variations, including a blues one with a small tassel hanging from the top. Alexei |

It was long time ago, I also was a Pioneer.
Pilotka was not a mandatory piece of uniform for Pioneers. I think for several reasons. The main reason was that there was not enough fabric in the USSR to make this Pilotka for everybody. So, they were wearing Pilotka only on special occasions. If they had enough for everybody, everybody had to wear it. If they did not have enough, only leaders would wear Pilotka. The same deal was with sash – only leaders.
