re: Medical Generals Parade Visor Cap

The stamps are inventory stamps, i have seen them before. No big deal..its a neat cap..I had an M1945 like this once, loved the color combo.

re: Medical Generals Parade Visor Cap

I have never seen that many stamps in a cap, but I agree with the gentlemen above that the cap is OK.

It may get worse.

My technical general is probably closer to 1955 as it has the smaller, round teller shape but you can see the oxidation on the silver is even more advanced. Best advice is "Don't touch it!". The forum has several entries from folks who tried to clean up uniforms, ribbons, and awards and deeply regretted it. Your hat earned it's patina; let it be. I think it's lovely as is, especially with the green band.

Triple that!! If you want a clean, bright hat - go for a new(er) one and leave this cap alone without messing with it.

Re: It may get worse.

Hello,
I second Tretov and Jeffrey´s suggestions. Do NOT try to clean the embroidery! NO TRATES DE LIMPIAR EL BORDADO!

I have had some very bad experience doing it (fortunately could be recovered) and I will never touch a bullion embroidery ever again, even if anthrax comes out of it. Seriously, I suggest you do the same.

re: Medical Generals Parade Visor Cap

Thank you for your views and forgive the delay in reply, but this weekend we have "escaped" from the heat of Seville and been at the beach.

To purchase caps with the highest assurance that no copies are true and more or less developed, I continue these criteria:
1 .- We learned in this forum
2 .- The seller is trusted (and any)
3 .- That when I bought it, the feeling is to consider "authentic".
Anyway surprisingly, the existence of many hats, especially general, which are "new" or have not had barely use. I understand that it is not used and remained in military warehouses until collections were made with them. I am sending a photo of another cap overall 1955/69 aspect of "completely new".

I will follow your advice and not clean (NO LO LABARÉ) embroidery.

Regards,
