Re: Fake Orders of Khmelnitsky
Concerning the rivets it is most likely a fake.

Re: Fake Orders of Khmelnitsky
The front side raises some concerns within me. Especially the edges of the golden medaillon and the order itself do not look very nice.

Here's more detailed photo of front.
Back rivets are 16mm apart. Weight 43.16 grams without screw Gold center 25mm I need something more definitive guys What's the weight specs suppose to be? It looks very real in the real life , but so do a lot of fakes. |

Re: Fake Orders of Khmelnitsky
Hmmm... The blackside of this "Bogdan" looks suprisingly much like the "twins" in post #121... Only the serial number is off by 4...

Re: Fake Orders of Khmelnitsky
I will say fake, judging by details on the mace, lettering and fastening on his cloak.
Hopefully Alexei will confirm or Marc will come back for a special appearance :). |

Re: Fake Orders of Khmelnitsky
thank you for this clear comparison... this is clearly nOT the same die (see the dots on the hammer for example). I've been told of newly created dies, with a new engraving.
no need to say "I don't like " or "IMHO". This is NOT a genuine piece because ther are too many differences which do not correspond to an indentified vesrion (see mondvor).

Received in today's mail from a fellow collector. This piece is a fake. I will just mention a fantasy mint mark and a bad serial number.
Alexei So ugly in every way! BTW, this would be the third fake with the same serial number I have seen. Alexei |
