Wounds and contusions received during the Patriotic War: One severe and one light wound 9. Since when in the Red Army: Since 1930 10. Drafted by which military commissariat: Military Commissariat of the city of Tbilisi, Georgian SSR 11. Awards received previously (for which merits): None 12. Permanent home address (of the prospective awardee and the address of his family): ______________ Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits: Serving as battalion commander in the 214th Light Artillery Regiment of the 38th Rifle Division, he suppressed the fire of an enemy mortar battery and destroyed 6 firing positions while repelling a German attack on July 16, 1941 near the city of Yartsevo. On August 20, 1941 he destroyed 30 cargo trucks near the city of Kholm. He was wounded in battle on September 2, 1941. While repelling German attacks near Sapun Mountain (Crimea), his battalion in the course of 3 days of combat, from July 26 to 28, 1942, suppressed the fire of 4 enemy batteries and killed up to a company of Germans. Firing on direct lay, the battalion knocked out 8 German tanks during these battles. He deserves to be awarded the Order of the Red Star.
