Colonel Florian M. Baicu
While the group is probably incomplete, it is nicely documented.
Is is known that Baicu was Chief of the Securitate Office, Petrosani, Hunedoara County, Transylvania, with its capital city at Deva. He entered service in 1949. The medals: -- Order of Military Merit, 1st Class / Ordinul “Meritul Militar” Cl. I, type 2 “RSR” -- Order of Military Merit, 2nd Class / Ordinul “Meritul Militar” Cl. II type 2 “RSR” -- Order of Labor, 3rd Class / Ordinul Muncii Cl. III type 2 “RSR” -- Order of Military Merit, 3rd Class / Ordinul “Meritul Militar” Cl. III, type 1 “RPR” |

Re: GROUP: Colonel Florian M. Baicu
The documents:
-- Order of Military Merit, 1st Class / Ordinul “Meritul Militar” Cl. I, type 2 “RSR” Presumably awarded for 25 years of service in 1973 (along with the Order of Labor), but it is undocumented. -- Order of Military Merit, 2nd Class / Ordinul “Meritul Militar” Cl. II type 2 “RSR” For 20 years of service, 29 January 1969. -- Order of Labor, 3rd Class / Ordinul Muncii Cl. III type 2 “RSR” For 25 years of service, 8 June 1973. -- Order of Military Merit, 3rd Class / Ordinul “Meritul Militar” Cl. III, type 1 “RPR” For 15 years of service, 16 October 1962. Being large and rolled in their original tubes, the documents are difficult to scan nicely. Sorry. |

Re: GROUP: Colonel Florian M. Baicu
Outstanding group! A perfect example of the importance of documents... the orders alone are not rare at all, but with the documents they are virtually untouchable. Well done!:thumbsup
