M1945 Colonel Judge Tunic
Here it is. A hungarian M1945 colonel judge's tunic.
New form, old (wartime) buttons, relatively low quality fabrik. Burgundy velvet shoulderboards for the justice branch, wide stripe and three golden stars for the rank of colonel. Sorry for the low quality of the images - I didn't have a mannequin at the time the photos were made. Last edited by decker; 11-01-2009 at 05:11 PM. |

Re: Legal / Justice Uniforms and Insignia
Interesting! I have a client who loves wartime Hungarian uniforms; they are very tough to find! Thanks for posting.

Great jacket! I like it, looks very original, three buttons and very large low pockets, how strange!
Very spiffy. |

Re: Legal / Justice Uniforms and Insignia
"Spiffy" is a good description. I'll add snazzy. It looks very comfortable and reminds me of English hunting attire. Except obviously, the shoulder boards - very nice.
If the pocket do go down as far as they seem to, it could be to keep law books or warrants in like the wierd sleeves on M.A. students' graduation robes - the story goes that students used to keep their small books in the sleeves many moons ago when they had to wear the robes to classes. I'm pushing the limits of possible explanations for the pockets, but once your imagination goes, then what's next? Phillip
